[c]<\/a> Baron Ferenc Ertel, Lieutenant Colonel in the General Staff of the noble insurrection was the commander of Istv\u00e1n Sz\u00e9chenyi at that time. He designed and built the defensive camp at Gy\u0151r, between the R\u00e1ba, the R\u00e1bca and the Danube rivers. The fortification of the three-quarter square mile area was completed in two weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

[d]<\/a> Lieutenant Istv\u00e1n Sz\u00e9chenyi, who had been assigned to the general staff of the national insurrection, was placed under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Baron Ferenc Ertel, commander of the Gy\u0151r fortification, by the commander-in-chief\u2019s order of 26 April. He reported to his post on 28 April. Ertel put him in charge of supervising the works related to the fortification and of keeping the accounts. Sz\u00e9chenyi wrote the letter during the works of the fortification, in May 1809. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
