He was planning to go to Arabia to purchase horses. (See the letter to Count Hardegg in February 1820.) Nothing is more important than Selina&#8217;s happiness, so he does whatever the Countess wishes. Soon he will be leaving on a great journey, which she can still cancel, but if the Council of War comes for him, his situation will become impossible.
