[b]<\/a> Count Ferenc Sz\u00e9ch\u00e9nyi was careful not to have any patronage obligations implicitly imposed on the manor in connection with the church in Baki. In the spring of 1820, when the parish priest Gy\u00f6rgy Pirity of Csat\u00e1r asked the manor for firewood and meadow, the count gave the parish priest a subsidy of 50 forints. The first step towards the building of a church and the establishment of a parish in Bak was taken by the parish priest J\u00f3zsef Kom\u00e1romy in a letter dated 15 November 1818. Sz\u00e9ch\u00e9nyi\u2019s religious soul welcomed the matter. The foundation stone of the new church was laid down on 6 May 1822 and completed on 2 March 1824 at a cost of 14,258 forints. On 13 January 1824, the widowed countess deposited 5,600 forints for its maintenance and obliged the owner of the P\u00f6l\u00f6ske manor to spend 5% of this amount for the said purpose. Count Istv\u00e1n Sz\u00e9chenyi wrote the following on the foundation deed, \u201cI accept with thanks the above order of my good mother, and I will fulfil it perfectly, to which I oblige myself or the next owners of the P\u00f6l\u00f6ske manor.
