Befehle mit Deinem Freund und Diener<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">St.<a href=\"#_ftn2\">[2]<\/a> Sz\u00e9chenyi<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>12<sup>ten<\/sup> Nov.<a href=\"#_edn3\">[c]<\/a> in Eile<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"#_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a> Baronin<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"#_ftnref2\">[2]<\/a> Stephan<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"#_ednref1\">[a]<\/a> K\u00f6pcs\u00e9ny (Moson County) was the estate of Prince Mikl\u00f3s Esterh\u00e1zy (1765\u20131833).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"#_ednref2\">[b]<\/a> Marie Louise Plaideux (1786\u20131835) was the lover of Prince Mikl\u00f3s Esterh\u00e1zy, whom Sz\u00e9chenyi had known for a long period. At Christmas 1827, Esterh\u00e1zy acquired the island of Mainau, north of Lake Constance, to care for his illegitimate children born to her. In addition, he made his son Nicolaus Paulus Plaideux (1814\u20131834) a baron (Baron von Mainau), and he did the same to his two daughters and their mother. Biografie eines manischen Sammlers Vienna, 2013. 346-350.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"#_ednref3\">[c]<\/a> The letter is dated 1825 by Gyula Viszota, the time of the Diet and Sz\u00e9chenyi\u2019s whereabouts in November justify this. The explanation for the naming of Madame Plaideux (as Sz\u00e9chenyi had earlier called her in his diary) in the letter may be that the purchase of the island and the ennobling of his illegitimate family \u2013 of which Sz\u00e9chenyi was likely aware \u2013 could be an old plan of Prince Esterh\u00e1zy.
