[a] Count Lajos Széchényi and his wife Countess Aloysia Clam-Gallas (1781–1822), and Count Pál Széchényi and his wife Caroline Meade (1794–1820).

[b] Széchenyi arrived back in Vienna from his trip to England on the 2nd of November 1816 . SzIN 1. 173.

[c] András Kiss, Ferenc Széchényi’s doctor, informs Liebenberg that Count István sends him a petition enclosed and asks him to go to Vienna as soon as possible. At the end of the’ letter, Kiss wrote Széchenyi’s short message. The petition is not enclosed with the letter.
